Welcome
I am delighted to have been appointed as the Headteacher of Notley High School and it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school.
We are an 11-18 school committed to ensuring each and every student is supported every step of the way so that they feel valued and can achieve their personal best. At the heart of everything we do are our core values: Honesty, Effort, Ambition, Respect and Teamwork - known across the school as HEART.
These values are not just words on a wall - they are visible every day in our classrooms, corridors, and conversations. They shape the way we treat one another, the way we approach learning, and the way we will continue to grow as a school community.
Through these values we want each and every student to:
- ENJOY coming to school and learning through the wide variety of experiences offered to them.
- Be ENRICHED by opportunities both inside and outside the classroom, ensuring all of their talents are recognised and nurtured.
- ACHIEVE high standards:
- Academically, in terms of the qualifications they gain.
- Personally, through the quality of their relationships and their respect for others the environment.
- Socially, through their contributions to the life of the school and wider community.
- ASPIRE to be the best they can be, every day.
As the recently appointed Headteacher Aspiration is especially important to me - not only for our students but for our school as a whole. We aspire to be the best version of ourselves in everything we do. That means fostering a culture where kindness and respect are central to everyday life, where no child is held back by barriers to learning, and where every student has the opportunity to experience the world beyond Notley.
Whether you are a prospective parent, a current parent, a student, a member of staff, or someone considering joining us in another capacity, I hope you enjoy these pages and that they give you a sense of what makes Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form such a vibrant and forward-moving community.
