Student Expectations
At our school, we are committed to creating a kind, respectful, focused, and ambitious learning environment where every student can thrive. Our expectations help students feel safe, valued, and supported to achieve their personal best.
HEART: Our Core Expectations
Honesty, Effort, Ambition, Respect and Teamwork - shape everything we do. Together, they form HEART: a simple word that reflects something deeply important to us. These values guide the way we learn, support each other, and grow as individuals and as a community.
Positive Actions for Learning (PAL)
Our behaviour system is built around Positive Actions for Learning (PAL). This approach ensures students are actively supported to take ownership of their behaviour and learning choices.
What does this look like?
- PAL 1 – A verbal prompt or reminder to refocus.
- PAL 2 – A move to another seat to support concentration and minimise disruption.
- PAL 3 – A move to a different classroom. A detention will follow to allow time for reflection and a restorative conversation if needed.
The aim is always to help students re-engage positively and maximise learning time for all.
There are also situations that occur outside of the classroom that will result in student sanctions. For our full Behaviour Policy please visit our policies page.
