Celebrating Success: A-Level and BTEC Results Day

– August 2025

Congratulations to the Class of 2025 on their A-Level and BTEC results. This year’s students have once again shown incredible determination and resilience, with 80% of those who applied to university securing their first-choice place, while others are beginning exciting higher and degree apprenticeships across a wide range of sectors.

A-Level Success

Among the top achievers was Mikaela, who gained an exceptional four A grades in chemistry, physics, maths and biology. Mikaela will be studying Chemical Engineering at the University of Sheffield.

“I’m very pleased because I was unsure if I was ever going to get into my firm and I was so pleased to see I was in. It’s made me feel much more confident and I’m very happy,” she said.

Joining her at Sheffield is Shanying, who achieved A, A, B, B across the same subjects and will be studying chemistry.

“I feel alright. I’m a bit nervous about starting university to be honest – it’s quite far away from where we live so it will be nerve wracking,” she admitted.

Another highflyer, Renn, is excited to begin studying Engineering at Durham University.

“I’m so happy I got into my uni. In 10 years’ time I see myself as an Aeronautical engineer. The great thing about Durham University is it’s general engineering for the first two years and then specialist – so you get to try everything. Year 13 was the most difficult year of my life but all worth it.”

BTEC & A-Level Success

Charlie celebrated success with A, B and C grades in business, economics and geography, and will start his next chapter at UAE in Norwich.

“I’m really happy, I was nervous coming in not knowing but opening the results made it all worth it. I got to where I need to be and I got the results I wanted so I’m really pleased.

I loved the two years at sixth form. I made some great friends but I’m excited for something different.”

Monty secured a Distinction as well as A and B grades in business, economics and sport, and will go on to study business at Nottingham University.

“I’m excited for the student life. I’ll be enjoying my summer holidays meeting friends and looking forward to the next chapter,” Monty said.

Sam was delighted to achieve A and B grades alongside a Distinction in business, sport and geography. He will study Sports Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

“I’m very pleased – I was predicted two Cs, so I’m quite surprised. I’m excited for uni; I like business and sport’s my passion so it’s great to be able to link them.”

Apprenticeship Success

Alongside those heading to university, several students are celebrating exciting apprenticeship opportunities. Daisy will begin a Law apprenticeship, embarking on a professional route into the legal field, while Rianna has enrolled in an apprenticeship with Essex Police, preparing for a career in policing.

Mrs Howells, Head of Sixth Form said:

“We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students this year. For 80% to gain their first-choice university place is a fantastic outcome, and we are equally proud of those pursuing high-quality apprenticeships. These results reflect the commitment, determination and ambition of our young people. We wish them every success as they take their next steps.”
