Careers Fair 2025
Year 11 Students Explore Future Pathways at The Braintree IAG Careers Fair
Year 11 students today had the exciting opportunity to attend a dynamic careers fair, where they explored a wide range of post-16 options and future career paths. The event brought together a diverse selection of local KS5 providers, including sixth forms, colleges, and apprenticeship organisations, offering students valuable insight into life after secondary school.
Held at the Braintree Race Course, the fair featured representatives from further education providers who were on hand to discuss A-Level and vocational course options. Colleges and sixth forms presented course guides and offered one-to-one advice, helping students understand the variety of subjects and qualifications available after Year 11.
In addition to educational institutions, the fair showcased a broad spectrum of apprenticeship and employment opportunities. Well-known employers such as Anglian Water, Greater Anglia, Border Force, and the British Army engaged students with interactive displays. These organisations highlighted the many roles available across different sectors — from engineering and public service to logistics and environmental management.
Students took full advantage of the chance to speak directly with professionals, ask questions, and gather resources to help guide their next steps. Many found the event both informative and inspiring, with some even discovering new career ideas they hadn’t previously considered.
With such a wide array of providers and employers under one roof, the careers fair proved a valuable experience — equipping students with the knowledge and confidence to take their next step towards a successful future.
