Tuesday 14 October 2025 Congratulations to William, a Jack Petchey Award Winner! William started gymnastics at the age of 3 and has progressed up through recreational, club, regional and national level, this despite having a heart condition (hole in the heart) from birth that meant a significant amount of his first 18 months were spent in hospital and continued check-ins with Brompton Cardio Specialists. When his dad bought a small keyboard, Regnald enjoyed playing just to hear the sounds, but he didn't show much interest in learning. He attended keyboard classes for a week, but he wasn't happy there. His dad decided to help him learn, even though he wasn't very skilled at playing the keyboard himself. With the help of YouTube lessons and music books, his dad guided him, and Regnald improved his skills. He eventually performed at church for the first time. Later, Regnald showed interest in the harmonica, which he learned to play on his own, again with his dad's encouragement. He worked hard to develop his talent. Initially, he practiced for five to 6 hours a day, and when he moved to the UK, he practiced in his free time and on weekends.
