Computing
Computing is taught in Years 7 – 11. In Key Stage 3, students receive 1 hour of teaching per week and are encouraged to be logical, creative, independent thinkers and effective digital citizens. They are introduced to one note, the tool through which the curriculum is delivered, and they will extend their knowledge of coding through blocks to lines of code using Python and pseudo code. They will deepen their knowledge of computational thinking and apply this to problem solving using code.
Edexcel GCSE Computer Science is offered at KS4. Computer Science is an increasingly relevant subject and is increasing in popularity.
Students are encouraged to be independent thinkers and to be logical in finding the most appropriate solution to programming questions.
Students are able to progress to our very successful Computer Science A Level in the sixth form.
